Upgrading the Saints to a Play of the Week

Every year, I've had at least 1 week where I've have two games as the pick of the week. Well, this week is one of them.

I'm already on da Bears, and now I'm adding NO +3.5.

This game is HUGE. Monday night, in The Louisiana Superdome for the first time since Hurricane Katrina, all of New Orleans is gonna be behind this team, as is the rest of the country. The Saints, which are 2-0 this year, came out hard in the first game of 2005 (after the hurricane) in order to "do it for the people of New Orleans". Anyway, we all know how good the Saints were last year, but they won that game. Well this game should be no different.

Emotions are running high, and while this isn't a "must win" for the Saints, it is for the city of New Orleans. The city knows it, the Saints know it, the NFL knows it, and the refs know it.

In fact, when I think of this game, it doesn’t remind me of the Saints week 1 win last year, but of the Giants 2005 week 8 win (maybe because I’m a New Yorker). Their owner of almost 80 years, Wellington Mara, just passed, which made this game a “must win” for the entire Giants organization. They crushed the Skins 36-0.

Anyway, seeing this game the way I do, I can’t just let it pass by without some kind of recognition… I already bet it, but now I’m adding it to my top weekly plays.

Good Luck.

Edit: After writing this post I just put a "to win" unit on the Saints ML +195

More on the NFL "play of the week" bet

Chicago -3.5 over Minnesota

I know everyone and their mother is on this game, and it really makes me not like the pick. That and Minny kicked my "play of the week" ass last week, and I'm going against them again. Not to mention I'm giving points on an away team playing a division rival.

All that said, Chicago has already beaten two division teams. Their defense has looked as good as last year's, and their offense has come on strong.

Minny on the other hand has been playing over their head. They can prove me wrong this week again, but I'm betting against it.

Good Luck.

NFL Week 3: Added football bets

Added football plays:
Buffalo Bills 24-September-2006 10:00 AM PST
Spread -3.5 for 1st Half +101

I was at the game last week. I'm a Jets fan. Their come back was fun, but such BS. The game was over after the Pats 3rd quarter TD. They put it on cruise control and allowed the Jets a few garbage TDs. That 2nd half is no reason is bet this team. The Jets also have NO running game. That isn't gonna change in buffalo.

New Orleans Saints 25-September-2006 5:30 PM PST
Spread +3.5 for Game +101
Am I really falling for this? Saints open in New Orleans? Monday night? How can they lose? That said, I'll take the field goal and hope for the Atlanta "trap".

Other bets:
Bengals Money Line +110
Chicago Bears -3½ -105 (now the play of the week)

NFL record YTD: 4-5, -1.15 units

Good Luck.

J-E-T-S

kinda suck... well, it's a rebuilding year.

I went to the game yesterday. So much better than watching it on TV. Anyway, I ended up betting the over (to have something to root for aside from the JETS). Yeah, I hit it, but I didn't post it here, so I'm not counting it in my record.

This week's posted football bets ended up 1-3. If it wasn't for the sunday night cover, I could have been blanked... Well, week 2 is over and I'm still alive. I really think the first 2 weeks are the hardest to handicap. Hopefully the winning start now :O)
