The rare baseball post...

Well, only rare until baseball season :-)

From the New York Post:

December 24, 2005 -- As Johnny Damon was still deciding whether to defect to the Yankees, he leaned on some stunning advice from Manny Ramirez, Damon and his wife told The Post yesterday.

Before Damon agreed to his four-year, $52 million contract, he spoke by phone to Ramirez for some guidance and the latest information about the Boston left fielder's trade demand.

Even though Ramirez still is under contract with the Red Sox, he urged Damon over to the other side of baseball's best rivalry.

"Manny said, 'You should go to New York,' " Michelle Damon told The Post...

hahaha... Boston sucks

Merry Christmas!!!

Yes, it's Xmas Eve, but it's still an NFL day. I'm checking my fantasy football team as it's week 16, and I'm in the Super Bowl! Unfortunately, it doesn't look too good for the sports bettor as Steve Smith had a bad day, and my kicker, Lawrence Tynes, ended up netting me zero points! Well, it's up to Ryan Moats, Bobby Engram, and Broncos Defense to have HUGE second halves for me to finish up as the top dog. Ah well, atleast I was able to pull some money out of this fantasy football league for finishing first in my division and 2nd overall.

That and I've had one hell of a day sports betting with Washington and Jacksonville covering, as well as San Fran winning straight up! It looks like it's 4-1 today with the Titans being my only lose.

Well, got to go and spread some more Xmas cheer. I'll be back on Monday for my recap of the week. Look at yesterday's posts to see all my plays.

Good Luck all and Merry Christmas.

NFL Week 16 Football Bets - Final Card

Two more added plays... since this time of year is crazy, I don't think that I'll be making any more plays this week... but you never know, if I do, I'll update this blog...

Added Plays:
Tennessee Titans +6 -110
Good value to the Titans here. The Fins don't deserve 6, even at home.

Baltimore Ravens -3 +102
Fading the Love Boat Vikings in Maryland

Previously Posted Bets:
Chicago Bears -7 +101
Washington Redskins -3 -117
Jacksonville -6 -105 Play of the Week
San Francisco 49ers +10 -115
San Francisco 49ers Money Line +438 (½ unit bet)

To quote myself:
All bets are for 1 unit unless otherwise posted. No bet will ever exceed 1 unit. A unit is a percentage for my playing bankroll. I always us multiple sportsbooks to find the best lines and odds for my bets.

Good Luck this week. Lets cash BIG.

NFL Week 16 Football Bets - Added Plays

Two added plays today:

Chicago Bears -7 +101
Chicago clinches with a win. Green Bay is well… Green Bay and without Gado.

Washington Redskins -3 -117
The Redskins have been put together a nice string of wins. More importantly, they are playing at home with a healthy defense and potent offense. Also the last time the Giants spanked them, their owner had just died, and it turned into one of those “win one for the gipper” type games.

The Giants win the division with a win this week, but they don’t have to win to clinch a playoff spot on Saturday. Washington needs this one to stay in the hunt.

Other Bets this week:
Jacksonville -6 -105 Play of the Week
San Francisco 49ers +10 -115
San Francisco 49ers Money Line +438 (½ unit bet)

NFL Week 16 Football Bets - Early Plays

No play on the Vikings this week. For some reason the Ravens are gelling as of late and a tough team to beat at home. That and the Vikes still have the Love Boat scandal hanging over their head… I don’t like the Ravens enough this week to play them, just enough not to bet against them…

Early Plays:
Jacksonville -6 -105 Play of the Week
Okay, the Jags clinch a playoff berth with a win here. The Texans keep Reggie Bush (as the #1 draft pick) with a loss… I just can’t see this game staying close.

San Francisco 49ers +10 -115
San Francisco 49ers Money Line +438 (½ unit bet)
San Fran may be no match for Seattle, but they know that they can beat the Rams (look at Week 1). Anyway, this team came out ready to play last week, and I except them to be ready again. With Bulger out, the Rams offense could be as bad as their defense.

All bets are for 1 unit unless otherwise posted. No bet will ever exceed 1 unit. A unit is a percentage for my playing bankroll. I always us multiple sportsbooks to find the best lines and odds for my bets.

NFL Week 15 Football Bets - Recap

Well after 5 weeks of posting plays, my record stands at 18-11 for a total of +5.63 units YTD. Not too bad, my plays of the week on the website are now at 9-6 and going in the right direction now too…

A Quick Recap of the weekend's bets:
Kansas City Chiefs/New York Giants UNDER 48 -108 - WIN
Denver Broncos -8 -110 - WIN
Arizona Cardinals -3 +120 - Lose
Dallas Cowboys +2.5 -102 - Lose
Pittsburgh Steelers -3 -119 - WIN
Green Bay Packers/Baltimore Ravens OVER 33½ -110 - WIN

I’m already looking at Minny this week and will probably post a play tonight as the Ravens are heading into a let down game against a much better competitor than Green Bay. I just need to run some numbers tonight, but I except this line to be off substantially. Of course, since the spread has already swung 4 points in the Ravens favor, it needs some investigation.

Anyway, I should be back with a few early plays tonight (or tomorrow)...

Good Luck all

I'm going to the Super Bowl - Fantasy Football

Well with Domanick Davis out on Sunday, I plugged Jonathan Wells in and he had a great day. Add Steve Smith's almost regular great performance, and I had another easy week… It helped that my opponent started both Michael Vick and Alge Crumpler last night in Chicago…

Anyway, I’m now gearing up for my fantasy football Super Bowl and currently I’m trying to snag the Vikings Defense and Frank Gore of the waiver wire… Sure with 5 runbacks, you would think I have enough, but do you ever really have enough? Besides, I now have room without ANY need for a backup QB or others… In fact I can slash and burn and drop/add 50 times this week and it won’t matter :O)

So I’m guaranteed more money (already up 70% over my buy-in & second place gets another 150%), but in this league I just want to win! After losing the fantasy baseball world series on it's last day, I’m looking for some revenge…

Week 15 NFL Bets - Monday Night Football

Green Bay Packers/Baltimore Ravens OVER 33½ -110

The total is too low for this game. I see at least 4 points in value here. The running game should open up the passing game for both teams tonight.

Quick Recap of the weekend:
Kansas City Chiefs/New York Giants UNDER 48 -108 - WIN
Denver Broncos -8 -110 - WIN
Arizona Cardinals -3 +120 - Lose
Dallas Cowboys +2.5 -102 - Lose
Pittsburgh Steelers -3 -119 NFL play of the week - WIN

Not the best Sunday after a good Saturday. Too bad I passed on Cinni... Anyway, 3-2 so far for the week for +0.68 units

Record on Posted Bets: 17-11 YTD, +4.72 units

Good Luck tonight

Week 15 NFL Football Bets - Final Card

2-0 yesterday, 16-9 YTD to far this season on posted plays. I'll update the weekend units won/lost after today.

Anyway, no more plays this week. I do like Cinni, but not at the spreads that are out there now. I should have bet them earlier in the week...

Well, with that said, here is my final Week 15 NFL Card:

Kansas City Chiefs/New York Giants UNDER 48 -108 - WIN
Denver Broncos -8 -110 - WIN
Arizona Cardinals -3 +120
Dallas Cowboys +2.5 -102
Pittsburgh Steelers -3 -119 NFL play of the week

Good Luck
