More on the Denver Bet...

Denver should be ready for tomorrow's opener. They got spanked week 1 last year by the Miami Dolphins, and that could make this a kind of a "week 1, on the road, revenge game". Mike Shanahan does not want to start this year off 0-1, and that loss last year (to a mediocre team) is a great reminder of that.

Shanahan has also stuck to his plan of not telling anyone who his starting tailback will be. Shanahan said earlier in the week, no one would know, not even the players, until the appropriate time, likely game day. I look for this to be a good example of the week 1 revenge factor at work.

Rams have a new coach, Scott Linehan. Last year, Lineham was the offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins. Week 1 revenge factor again!

The Rams got some needed additions on D and their offense has to be better with the return of Marc Bulger. But this is a new season with a new coach and the first time we get to see them play the new offense (not in the preseason). Not a bad team to bet against...

Denver is this week's Pick of the Week.

A Bet on Dallas: Week 1 NFL

Dallas Cowboys 10-September-2006 1:15 PM PST
Spread -1 for Game -102

Okay, so I had to bet the boys. This team has imporved significantly since last year. The Jags defense looks to be in trouble this week. I would have originally thought of this game as an under, but not anymore. After watching the line move more and more away from Tennesse, I had to grab it before it lost all its value. I like this play with an injured Mike Peterson. I love this play if Peterson is out.

Other week one bets:
Pittsburgh -1 WIN
Denver -3.5 Pick of the Week
Chicago Bears -3.5
San Francisco +9

Good Luck.

More on the Denver Broncos Bet

I was just questioned on the Denver and I wanted to post my response real quick.

I'm also watching the Dallas/Jags line and injury reports. I might have a play for this Sunday morning... just giving warning.

My quick reponse:
On my way out, but Denver was under rated last year, and I believe they still are this year. I got to know this team really well in 05 and was hoping to ride them throught the SB. Well it didn't happen, but they played a very tough schedule last year and came out 7-3 against teams with a .500 record or better during the regular season.

I'll admit the Rams are better this year. That said this is a bet on the Broncos, not a fade on the Rams.

It's week 1, and anything can happen. Honestly my strongest play might have been last night, but I'm considering this my strongest for Sunday.

Good Luck.

NFL Week 1 Football Bets: Final Card

No added plays.

Denver is now the Pick of the Week!
The Steelers easily covered last night, making my first play of the year a win!

Denver - This team is good. They killed my survivor pool week 1 last year… Yes, I can forgive them and make them my play of the week for the first week of 2006. Anyway, this team was underrated last year, and they look to be again now. St. Louis has improved, and it’s week 1 (one of the two hardest weeks to bet), but I see Denver winning this one by at least a TD. Get this right, this is play on the Broncos and not a fade of the Rams.

Other week one bets:
Pittsburgh -1 WIN
Chicago Bears -3.5
San Francisco +9

Good Luck.

NFL Week 1 Football Bets: Added Plays

Adding:
San Francisco 49ers 10-September-2006 1:15 PM PST
Spread +9 for Game -115
San Fran is a better team this year. So is Zona, but this line is off. Too many bettors remember the season the 9ers had last year and betting against them because of it... Anyone besides me remember the straight up bet I made on San Fran in week 16 last year? Probably not, but I bet them plus ten and straight up. Yes, I cashed both tickets.

Pittsburgh Steelers 7-September-2006 5:30 PM PST
Spread -1 for Game -102
Super Bowl champs as virtually a PICK is ALWAYS a play in week 1. With or without Big Ben.

Thinking about fading the Seahawks, but I can't! Everything seems to point to them losing, but I can't do it. They're just too good...

Thank god NFL Preseason is over!

First NFL Bet of the Year!

Chicago Bears 10-September-2006 1:15 PM PST
Spread -3.5 for Game -103

It's week one and anything can happen... But GB is terrible and while playing at home with a healthy Green, this team should still have a rough time vs. one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Bears are no offensive power, but they'll be ready for this game against this week conference opponent.

wanted to fire one off early :O)

Good Luck.
