NFL Football Sports Betting - Super Bowl XLIII - Pittsburgh Steelers vs Arizona Cardinals - Final Bets

This season my NFL record is 53-33. I already have 7 bets going for this year's Super Bowl, and I'm adding one more today.

Today's bet:
Pittsburgh Steelers/Arizona Cardinals OVER 46.5
The initial numbers suggest this game goes under, but if you weight recent history (the playoffs) a little more, I like the over in this game.

All other plays already bet are below. See past post for write ups. All prop bets were bet at BoDog.

- Arizona Cardinals +7 (-115) over Pittsburgh Steelers
- Total Receiving Yards - Willie Parker UNDER 1.5 (-115)
- Total Rushing Yards – Edgerrin James OVER 49.5 (+115)
- Total Receptions - Anquan Boldin OVER 5.5 (-135)
- Total Receiving Yards – Hines Ward OVER 69.5 (-105)
- Who will throw more interceptions in the game? Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) (+120)
- Will Barack Obama bring back US tradition and call winning team before broadcast goes off the air? YES (+165)

It's been a hell of a season. Good Luck tomorrow. I hope we both win money and have some fun... I'll be getting wasted.

NFL Football Sports Betting - Super Bowl XLIII - Pittsburgh Steelers vs Arizona Cardinals

This Super Bowl is a very tough game to handicap. It looks like Vegas made this line perfect. If it was a regular season game, I probably won’t bet it. My record is 53-33 on the rest of the season, and I already have 6 prop bets going on this game.

That said, it’s the freaking Super Bowl, so let’s try to find an edge.

It’s an odd match up and one that clearly favors the Steelers. The Steelers have a solid defense and a potent offense. Based on the Cards regular season play, this line is a little low. Arizona’s defense was middle of the road, they’re running game suffered, and the greatest weapon that this team had was the pass.

Pittsburgh was also challenged more during the regular season. They went 4-4 against teams that were 500 or better while the Cards went 2-6 against winning teams. Arizona also lost 4 of their last 6 heading into the playoffs.

But what Arizona has accomplished in the playoffs has been great. Their defense has been able to create turnovers, they have revitalized their running game, and their passing game has made Larry Fitzgerald and Kurt Warner household names.

In fact if you just handicap this Super Bowl based on these teams playoff performances, this line would favor the Cards. So based on these teams’ playoff performances, I'm betting:

Arizona Cardinals +7 (-115) over Pittsburgh Steelers

That’s the pick. Let’s root for the dog.

See my prop bets 1 and prop bets 2 post for some good Super Bowl props.

Good Luck

NFL Football Sports Betting - Super Bowl Prop Bets - Added Bet

Another Prop Bet I like from BoDog:

Total Receiving Yards - Willie Parker UNDER 1.5 (-115)
Parker only caught 3 passes all year, 2 of which were for negative yards. Get on this one.

See this post for 5 more Super Bowl prop bets. I'll be back with more bets tonight.

NFL Football Sports Betting - Super Bowl Prop Bets

I'm stilling waiting to pick a side on this game, but I've already bet a few props. These are all from BoDog. My 2008-09 season NFL record is 53-33.

Total Rushing Yards – Edgerrin James OVER 49.5 (+115)

I went over with him in the NFC Championship too. James is a veteran with experience. Expect Arizona to go to him before Hightower.

Total Receptions - Anquan Boldin OVER 5.5 (-135)

Pittsburgh will be more focused on Larry Fitzgerald as Arizona’s #1 receiver. Boldin also played 12 games this regular season and went over 5.5 receptions in 9 of them. Boldin should be healthy for this game, and he is a part of the offense that the Cards will use with 2 weeks to prepare.

Total Receiving Yards – Hines Ward OVER 69.5 (-105)

As long as he stays healthy, this Super Bowl MVP should go over 70 yards. He’s the Steelers #1 WR threat, and Big Ben will get him the ball.

Who will throw more interceptions in the game? Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) (+120)

Warner can be an interception machine, but I don’t see him turning it over much in the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the Cards defense has been very good at pressuring the QB and getting picks through out the playoffs. I see this bet at a coin flip, so I’ll take the plus money on Big Ben.

Super Bowl XLIII - Will Barack Obama bring back US tradition and call winning team before broadcast goes off the air? YES (+165)

This president weighs in on the BCS. I think he’ll be calling the Super Bowl winners, and I'll bet it at plus money.

I'll be back later in the week with a side and maybe some more prop bets.

Good Luck.
