Skybook's Costa Rican Coffee

Got my coffee today from Skybook. Great stuff. They this sportsbook definately doesn't skimp on free goods. It's the second year in a row they hooked it up. That and they sent me a tailgating grill last year.

The real funny thing is that this is the second year in a row that I have crushed this book. I use them a lot during the football season (this year and last) because of their free half-points, and for some reason, I just can’t lose at this book. I line shop, so I use a lot of sports books, but Skybook has taken a beating. In fact, I’ve already pulled all my money out of them this season as I’m not using them for the Super Bowl, and I don’t play with them except for football. (Well, now that I’m not betting basketball that much this year. This is a great sports book for football and basketball sports betting.)

Anyway, great coffee :O)

Polamalu injures ankle in practice

DETROIT -- Strong safety Troy Polamalu, the catalyst of the Pittsburgh Steelers defense and a player who has emerged as one of the league's most versatile defenders, suffered an ankle injury during Thursday's practice and was forced to leave the session early.

Polamalu, the third-year veteran, who has been selected to the AFC Pro Bowl squad in each of the last two seasons, will be listed as "probable" on the Steelers' injury report. By definition, a "probable" listing on the report means that a player is 75 percent likely to participate in that week's game. - ESPN

This is probably nothing... Polamalu will play, but an injury could slow him down, especially as the game progresses. If anything, this could be good news for Alexander, but until the injury is disclosed, it's nothing to get excited about... It's an unordinary slow news week building up the Super Bowl…

Go Daddy's quest for Super Bowl XL - They're at it agian

The Go Daddy commercial had to be one of the most talked about ads from last year’s Super Bowl. Well, they are going again this year, but under much scrutiny. In fact it looks like they went though 13 different commercials before finally getting their 14th one approved. Honestly, I didn't even think the first 13 were that bad... well, maybe the first one was a bit much... I think they are all pretty funny.

Anyway, check out Go Daddy's quest for Super Bowl XL to see the final product and all its rejects.

Heavy Betting on Super Bowl XL - Seattle Seahawks vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Just in and scalped from another site:
Pinnacle is reporting that they have taken numerous max bets on Sea +4 ($100,000) and also the Seattle moneyline.
No worries. They are not talking about me here.

I was just thinking that this makes my Seahawks play look even better knowing that some big money is behind it.

Super Bowl XL Total Over/Under Bet and more

Seattle Seahawks/Pittsburgh Steelers
Total Points UNDER 47½ -105 for Game Super Bowl Play of the Week

As Chad Johnson said this morning on Howard Stern, "47! No way."

Seriously though, these are two teams with great defenses. Seattle might have the number 1 offense in the league, but we’ve been hearing all week on how good Pittsburgh’s defense is, so I’m not going to repeat it here. On the other side of the ball, the Seahawks have a fast and aggressive D that is capable of playing well against elite teams. With the Bus running low on gas and Willie Parker’s habit of fumbling the ball, expect this to be low scoring affair…

Additionally, the line is skewed toward the over. The public loves to bet the over. This article might narrate it the best:

The consensus over/under number is 47. Some places, including the Hilton and Stardust, opened 48. LVSC’s send-out number on the total was 49.

Based on a pure handicapping number, Seba admitted the over/under number should be 45 or 46. However, LVSC anticipates the public to bet the over, especially during the final hours leading up to the game.

Super Bowl Side Bets:
Seattle Seahawks +3.5 +102 (bet early)
Seattle Seahawks Money Line +168 (bet early) #

Super Bowl Prop Bet:
Total pass receiving yards made by Bobby Engram
Over 34½ receiving yrds -120 #

Last week of Fantasy Football - Super Bowl XL

Well, my fantasy team sucks this week. Even though the Seahawks were my NFL Pick of the Week for the Conference championship round of the NFL Playoffs, I decided to load my team with Broncos. Why? Who knows... I guess I liked their players. (BTW, I’m talking about the fantasy football CBS Sportsline Playoff Challenge here.)

Anyway, I cut and pasted this from the rules:

Finally, you will be allowed to change only 2 players prior to the Super Bowl, with 6 players carrying over from the previous week.
Yeah, I fucked myself. My starting line up now consists of 4 Broncos after changing my 2 guy limit. Well, I can say goodbye to that buy-in… At least I got second in my regular season money league. (I'm still up big for this season' s fantasy action.)

Just for laughs, I’m posting my lineup below, so you can see just how bad it is...

Hasselbeck, Matt QB SEA
Alexander, Shaun RB SEA
Anderson, Mike RB DEN - NOT PLAYING
Engram, Bobby WR SEA
Jackson, Darrell WR SEA
Alexander, Stephen TE DEN - NOT PLAYING
Elam, Jason K DEN - NOT PLAYING
Broncos, DST DST DEN - NOT PLAYING

Fucking Fantastic... Well, one less thing I have to care about this coming Sunday...

Good Luck.
