NFL Sports Betting - Week 15 Football Bets
Another ugly week last week, leaving me up a little less than half a unit in football so far this year. I did cash the boxing ticket though...Updated 2007 Football Record:
NFL sides: 29-26-3, +0.34 units
NFL totals: 11-12-1, -1.05 units
College: 12-12-1, +1.14 units
The favorites in the NFL have been running real well the last couple of weeks. The public has been real hot, and this has left a lot of opportunity to bet some juicy dogs this week.
That said, get ready to hold your nose this week. I'm betting more games than usual and hitting a few games hard. I usually don't like this much action on a single weekend, but I have to bet opportunities as they present themselves.
San Francisco 49ers +9-110 (2 units)
This big home dog is getting no love.
Atlanta Falcons +13.5 -110 (2 units)
The Falcons move on this week without Vick who is serving 23 months. Their season is done, but they'll still try to spoil this division rival. I'll take 2 TDs against the defensively oriented Bucs.

Being that it's the holidays and my schedule this week is ridiculous, I'm not sure if I'll post again before Sunday. That said, this Sunday is the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, and those crazy Ron Paul supporters are putting together another "money bomb" for him on Sunday. Ron Paul is the most pro online gambling presidental candidate in the 2008 race, and that's why I'm writing about him. You can check out this fund raiser at Tea Party 07.

The Ron Paul Campaign is Hilarious
Yes, I cashed again on Monday Night Football... But that's not what this post is about. This post is about the ever expanding Ron Paul Presidential Campaign.
Tomorrow some guy is spending $85,000 out of his pocket to take out a full page ad for Ron Paul in the USA Today. You can read the article about him here.
Today Mike Huckabee is having a money bomb fund raiser, and Ron Paul supporters decided around 2pm today to out raise him. And they have already passed him with over $160,000 donations. You can track the fund raising competition here. (Yes, I did give today.)
And some of his supporters are trying to raise $200,000 to make and fly the first ever Presidential Blimp in history. (Really?!?!) Check that out here.

This ad will run in USA today. One supporter is putting up $100k to run this full page ad in America's most read newspaper.

The guy running this ad is a manager at an equity investment management firm. He is just one of many players in the finance world that are starting to back RP. These guys come with big money and influence with their rich clients.
It'll be interesting to see if and how they will continue to push Ron Paul's campaign.

NFL Sports Betting - Week 11 Football Bets - Early Bet
Another Monday night winner last night. The Seahawk's win brings my week 10 NFL record to 5-2-1, and I'm up 9.99 units in football for the year. I hope to be in solid double digits after this week.Minnesota Vikings -5 -110
Oakland's secondary was so bad last weekend Rex Grossman looked like a probowler, and even with Peterson sidelined, the Raiders will have serious problems trying to stop the run. This is also Minny's last easy home game this season. They will play hard for the win.

A little reversal last week, but nothing to worry about over a long season...
Ron Paul ended up netting over $4.3 million on Monday. Yes, he is pro online gambling. Ron Paul says, "I believe strongly that the internet should not be regulated by the federal government and believes even more strongly that people should be free to engage in the activities they wish, as long as they are willing to take responsibility for their actions."

Presidential candidate raises over $2.4 million in less than a day!
Presidential candidate Ron Paul's grass roots campaign has managed to raise this candidate over $2.4 million so far today.
The idea for a November 5th "money bomb" was created by Ron Paul's grassroots supporters at an online forum frequented by fans of his views on the constitution and the War in Iraq. The idea was to “bomb” Ron Paul’s website with money today to help support this campaign and gain national attention for the candidate. Ron Paul raises $5 million in the 3rd quarter
In case you haven't heard of him, Ron Paul is campaigning for President of the United States. And why do I care? Aside from the fact that he is anti-war, anti-tax, and anti-big government, he is very pro internet and free trade (which is great for online sports betting).
In his words, Ron Paul "believes strongly that the internet should not be regulated by the federal government and believes even more strongly that people should be free to engage in the activities they wish, as long as they are willing to take responsibility for their actions.”
I support Ron Paul for obvious reasons (I mean he does have 2 first names). But I think everyone should take a look at what this man stands for and form their own opinion...
Sports Betting - Already on a few bets for week 5. I got a good line on the Packers, but the public is all over them, and I don't like it. I'll be watching this game...

NFL Preseason Betting...
Betting preseason NFL games is for 1 type of sports bettor. The action junkie.
These scrimmages mean nothing to either team. Both team spend the entire game testing out different plays and giving backups tons of playing time. For any gambler to really think that he has an edge in this crazy.
No ones knows what kind of match ups will be created in the 4th quarter when a 2nd sting WR going against a #3 corner back and #2 safety with a #4 QB throwing to him. Yet with spreads of 3 and low totals, one of these plays can easily win or lose this bet for you.
It's easy to see why sportsbooks love taking action on this games. The outcomes really are a 50/50, and the degenerate gambler is probably the only one betting them. The popularity of these games has also taken off in the recent years with more of them being televised now.
If you were thinking of laying down some cash on the NFL preseason, my advice would be not to get carried away. The real season is months long, and offers much better betting opportunities... But if you must, good luck to you.
Politics - I bet months ago that Hillary Clinton would not get the Democratic Nomination. I placed this bet before Pinny closed their doors to US customers, before the Neteller guys were arrested and before Clinton raised millions. Anyway, I think I still have a shot at a win, but I would have gotten much better odds today. This is also the last bet I'm holding at Pinny (offshore sportsbook) before I clear out that account for good.
My main man Ron Paul, the presidential candidate who thinks online gambling should be legal, is a 25-1 shot at BoDog (much better odds than at some of the other online books). Okay, Paul doesn't necessarily support gambling but in his words, "believes strongly that the internet should not be regulated by the federal government and believes even more strongly that people should be free to engage in the activities they wish, as long as they are willing to take responsibility for their actions.” What a great guy. And he voted against the war in Iraq.
Okay, enough rambling for tonight. Time to get of the coach, into the shower and out to the bar.
