Lawsuit Seeks Compensation For Super Bowl Loss

A lawsuit filed Friday by a former St. Louis Rams player and others seeks millions of dollars in damages from the alleged taping of Rams practices by the New England Patriots before the 2002 Super Bowl.

The Patriots won the game 20-17 in the Superdome.

The $100 million suit, filed on behalf of former Rams player Willie Gary in U.S. District Court in New Orleans, names the Patriots, team owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick.

I lost the over on that game. Think I can get in on that lawsuit?

Super Bowl Bets on Super Bowl Sunday

A few more hours until Super Bowl 42...

As you can see from my previous post, I'm taking the Pats to win staight up. The line on this has actually drop at BoDog from where I bet it. It's now -420.

Anyway, a lot of people have asked me my stance on the over/under in this game (currently at 54½). While I haven't bet the total (and probably still won't), I am leaning toward the under but don't see much value in it. I simply don't think it's worth a bet.

Aside from that, I still really like the New England Money Line and if forced to pick a spread bet, I would lean toward the Pats less the points this Super Bowl. People that say that the Patriots can only win the big game by 3 points, but that's garbage. Every game is different.

Again I'm listing the Super Bowl Prop Bets that I'm on. All can be found at BoDog
- Ahmad Bradshaw - Total Receiving Yards UNDER 11½ -130
- Will Laurence Maroney score a touchdown? YES -210
- Plaxico Burress - Longest Reception OVER 23½ -115
- Will the entire Fox pre-game team pick the Patriots to win the Super Bowl? NO +130
- How Many Times will Joe Buck mention Peyton Manning's name during the Broadcast? (Joe Buck must mention full name in order to count.) UNDER 5½ -120

Good Luck Football Fans. I'm rooting for a good game, and of course to win most (if not all) of my Super Bowl Bets.

Super Bowl Money Line and Prop Bets

New England Patriots Money Line -450 (to win 2 units)

Okay, I pulled the trigger on a side. Granted, I'm giving a lot of chalk, but let's take a closer look.

The Pats are 18-0 this season. There has never been a hotter team in the NFL. Never.

Also the line is at -11.5. Normally a money line at this price would equal a spread of -7.5 or -8, so this bet is carrying an extra 3 or 4 points in value over the spread. Anytime you find a bet like this, you should take it over the spread.

Why is the Money Line so different? Well most Pats backer are probably betting the spread, and there is probably a good number of Giants backers betting their team to win straight up. This creates a split between the lines that most bettors won't realize, and with this happening on the heaviest bet game of the year, I doubt the 2 lines will move together.

My list of Super Bowl Prop Bets from BoDog
- Ahmad Bradshaw - Total Receiving Yards UNDER 11½ -130
- Will Laurence Maroney score a touchdown? YES -210
- Plaxico Burress - Longest Reception OVER 23½ -115
- Will the entire Fox pre-game team pick the Patriots to win the Super Bowl? NO +130
- How Many Times will Joe Buck mention Peyton Manning's name during the Broadcast? (Joe Buck must mention full name in order to count.) UNDER 5½ -120

Look at my older posts for write ups on each.

I'm going out of town this weekend for the game, so I might not write much until after the Super Bowl. I will post any other bets I make, but don't look for any write ups.

Anyway, that is all for now.

Good Luck this Super Bowl.

Super Bowl XLII - Patriots vs Giants - More Prop Bets

Adding some non-football prop bets that I think have some value...

Will the entire Fox pre-game team pick the Patriots to win the Super Bowl? NO +130

- The Giants are the lovable underdog this year. I really doubt they pick the Pats across the board.

How Many Times will Joe Buck mention Peyton Manning's name during the Broadcast? (Joe Buck must mention full name in order to count.) UNDER 5½ -120

- Joe Buck sometimes calls Eli "Peyton" by accident. I think he'll get it right during the Super Bowl. I expect him to mention Peyton, but it has to be the full name. I have to admin that this is a stupid bet, but I heard it on Howard Stern and felt like the action. Of course, I'll probably have no idea on the number of times Buck mentions him until after the game.

I'm already on:
Ahmad Bradshaw - Total Receiving Yards UNDER 11½ -130
Will Laurence Maroney score a touchdown? YES -210
Plaxico Burress - Longest Reception OVER 23½ -115

All my Super Bowl Prop Bets are from BoDog (Link).

I'll be back with a Money Line pick (hint - I'm thinking Pats) and maybe a spread bet, an over/under, and/or more props.

Good Luck.

Super Bowl XLII Prop Bets

Are you going through the Sunday Football withdrawal this weekend? No games to watch, no stat lines to track... I know I can't wait until next weekend. For now, I'm adding a few prop bets.

Will Laurence Maroney score a touchdown? YES -210

He rushed for 2 TDs the last time he's faced the Giants. Belichick has been using him well in the redzone, and Maroney has scored a TD in the Pats last 5 games. The line is a little steep, but I really like this play.

Plaxico Burress - Longest Reception OVER 23½ -115

Burress is the Giants only deep threat, and I expect them to target him deep at least a few times in the Super Bowl. Hopefully he'll come down with 1.

I'm already on:
Ahmad Bradshaw - Total Receiving Yards UNDER 11½ -130

All my Super Bowl Prop Bets are from BoDog (Link). I'll be back with more props and bets this week.

Good Luck.

Super Bowl XLII Lines & Bets

Looking around I can find the Pats -11 right now... It's tempting as I'm pretty sure I'll be taking New England in this game.

The Giants have rolled through the playoffs, and have been monsters against the spread in the 2nd half. The Pats have been the exact opposite, going 1-7 against the spread in their last 8. In spite of this (and my best friend swearing that the Pats will only win by 3), I'm still leaning toward New England here.

First off, there is no way the Pats lose this game. They are probably the best football team in history. Secondly the Giants defense has been winning their games, but they don't match up well with the Pats offense. You can point to the end of season game where NY only lost by 3, but the Gmen did get a garbage TD at the end of the game...

Anyway, I did make my first Super Bowl Prop Bet at BoDog (Link).

2008 Super Bowl XLII Props - Ahmad Bradshaw - Total Receiving Yards UNDER 11½ -130

Good Luck.

The Super Bowl craze & added prop bet

The NFL not allowing public TVs that are too big (55 inches), finding out that Manning is a Republican and Urlacher is a Dem, and that the Dolphin Stadium's website was hacked... just some of the things floating around the internet leading up to the Big Game.

Now more sports betting:

Superbowl XLI Props
Total Points Scored - Adam Vinatieri
Over 8½ points -105

another prop bet for a 1/2 unit.

I'll be back with a recap of all plays tomorrow, and maybe a few additions.

Good Luck.

Super Bowl Prop Bets #1

The Friday before the Super Bowl, and it looks like the public is currently on the Bears +7. I am too.

Thinking that the Bears will have a good rushing offense agaisnt the Colts smaller D-line I really like the following prop bets on Chicago's primary running back. Each bet to win a 1/2 unit:

SUPERBOWL PROPS - Feb 4th, 2007
Thomas Jones Rushing Yards
Over 75½ Rushg Yrds -110

SUPERBOWL PROPS - Feb 4th, 2007
Thomas Jones Rushing Attempt
Over 17½ Rushg Attmpt -110

Did you read about Genarlow Wilson on ESPN? Georgia

I'm sure I'll be back with more tomorrow...

Good Luck.
